Detailed Class Description's... What Classes You Should Attend

PILATES REFORMER LEVEL 1

This is our most basic, slower paced, introduction to Pilates Reformer and other apparatuses. A Beginner Class...appropriate for those who are new to exercise and Pilates. However, this class is still challenging. Expect more explanation on the "why" of Pilates. We will explain concepts and stretch a little longer. It's good for all levels to reconnect with their powerhouse and stretch more from time to time. Feel your Transversus Abdominis (abdominal belt), focus on shoulder stabilization, stretch your psoas and hamstrings as you focus on key components of Pilates based exercises on the Reformer and other apparatuses. Stretch, Strengthen, Align and Breathe into your ribs as you practice the most important components of Pilates...the Fundamentals.

PILATES REFORMER LEVEL 2

Our "all levels" intermediate class which primarily utilizes the Pilates Reformer, in addition to the Pilates Ballet Bar, Spring Board, EXO Chair, and other small equipment. This is a challenging class option that will push you and your body towards a leaner midsection, more balanced muscles, and overall body chiseling. Be prepared to challenge and change your musculature. Club Pilates Instructors will guide you through a balanced, fast paced, focused, and ever changing Pilates exercises. Please let your instructor know if you have special physical limitations or if you wish challenged more or less. Enjoy!!

PILATES REFORMER LEVEL 2.5

This is our fastest paced and most challenging Pilates Reformer and other Pilate apparatus class. Pilates Reformer Level 2.5 is a high intensity and faster paced Pilates equipment
class. Expect to have a nonstop workout, fatiguing muscles with higher reps and higher intensity. This class is designed for those who want to sweat and burn. Level 2's are challenging...Level 2.5's are borderline evil.

PILATES REFORMER CARDIO SCULPT 

Class incorporates jumping on the reformer as a cardio workout while circuit training other Pilates apparatuses and strength training exercises. Utilize the Reformer, EXO chair, Springboard (aka Cadillac), fuse multiple Pilates modalities to sculpt and trim, activate the core and strengthen the entire body. This class, like all classes, will train your muscles isometrically, eccentrically and concentrically to yield the greatest metabolic response for your body.

Club Pilates PREGNANCY Education Class

Pilates is an amazing form of exercise to do while you are pregnant. As long as you were physically active and performed regular Pilates exercise prior to pregnancy, and are cleared for exercise from your Doctor, you are safe to do regular Club Pilates Reformer Classes throughout your pregnancy.

This class is a level 1-2 Class and EDUCATES you on how to modify exercises for yourself and why the modifications work. This class teaches you all you need to know so you are safe to attend our faster paced, ever changing classes at your convenience. Education equals power and freedom to take regular classes throughout your pregnancy. The stronger your pelvic floor and abdominals are, the easier labor/delivery and recovery are. In this class you will learn about how the hormone "relaxin" (which flows through your body while pregnant) effects your body and ligaments. Easy to learn alternative options, and modifications are taught so that YOU know how to adjust your body and why. Expect more explanation and "academic" information in this class. For our special pregnant students we extend your expiration date as long as you need on our lowest class rate package, just email allison@clubpilatessandiego.com and let us know and we will happily extend the date on our most affordable, shorter expiration date packages. Listen to your body, take it easy and breathe. A regular Pilates routine during pregnancy will provide positive physical and mental benefits.

Club Pilates “Stretchilates”

Have you taken lots of Club Pilates classes this week? Do you run and do regular boot camp workouts? This Class is our nicest, stretchy feel good, light intensity class offered at Club Pilates. If you are very tight (many men need this.... hint hint) and need extra stretching, this class may not seem so nice. Club Pilates "Stretchilates" includes a basic light 10-15 minute full body warm up. After that you will stretch your entire body for the remainder of the class. You will stretch your entire body using the Mat, Reformer, EXO chair, Spring Board, Ballet Bar, foam roller, ball, and any other modalities available. Use breathing, Pilates Fundamentals and muscle contraction techniques to stretch a little further. As we age, flexibility is generally decreased...not if you do Club Pilates"Stretchilates". Stay supple and balanced by incorporating this class into your routine. Tell your parents, spouse and friends who can't touch their toes or have low back problems. This class is sure to help. :)
